Our newly constructed business office is located at 8450 Shaner Ave. NE Rockford, MI 49341 (Northeast corner of 10 Mile Rd. and Shaner Ave.). We moved into our new office in December of 2002. Our 24-hour dispatch center is housed here as well. Our highly trained Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) dispatchers are ready 24/7 to assist you in your time of need. Our new Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) allows us to efficiently take the necessary call information and get help to you as quickly and safely as possible. Company History

Rockford Ambulance was established in 1968 as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. The Board of Directors is made up of representatives of the communities we serve, thus allowing input from a broad spectrum of community owners.

The following is a summary of chronological highlights in Rockford Ambulance history:

1968

North Kent Ambulance Service is established

1970

Rockford Ambulance licensed to provide Basic Life Support Service

1974

Rockford Ambulance licensed to provide Advanced Life Support Service

1985

Care Plan Membership established

1987

Rockford Ambulance changes from volunteer service to a full-time paid staff

1987

Courtland Station opened to provide better service to community

1988

Rockford Ambulance provides ALS service to the Lowell area

1994

Rockford Ambulance receives full Accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services. First organization in the nation with less than 5,000 transports to become accredited

1996

Rockford Ambulance receives national recognition for community service programs

1997

Belmont Station opened to provide better service to community

1999

Rockford Ambulance re-accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services

2000

Rockford Ambulance merges with Northwest Kent Ambulance Service

2001

Rockford Ambulance provides services to the residents of Grand Rapids Charter Township

2001

Rockford Ambulance re-accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services

2002

Rockford Ambulance constructs new administrative office, ambulance facility and community center all in one building

2003

Rockford Ambulance constructs new ambulance facility in Sparta to provide better service to the community
